This training prepares you (and your colleagues) to address the mental health challenges that affect both employees and the people that you serve and support.

Why mental health is relevant in the higher learning environment
Scenarios specific to faculty, students, and administrators
Available mental health resources
You will learn how to use the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):
Assess for risk of suicide or harm.
Give reassurance and information.
Encourage appropriate professional help
Encourage self-help and other support strategies.
2 hours of virtual training, on your own, before the course begins.
8 hours of training in a single session with the instructor (includes breaks).
