  • Why mental health is relevant in the higher learning environment

  • Scenarios specific to faculty, students, and administrators

  • Available mental health resources

  • You will learn how to use the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE):

    • Assess for risk of suicide or harm.

    • Listen non-judgmentally.

    • Give reassurance and information.

    • Encourage appropriate professional help

    • Encourage self-help and other support strategies.

  • 2 hours of virtual training, on your own, before the course begins.

  • 8 hours of training in a single session with the instructor (includes breaks).
