Workshop Facilitator
I am available for workshop facilitation in the areas of DEI, education and outreach, and mentoring. Here is a list of a few of my most popular workshops:
True Allyship: Workshop participants are challenged to move from their head to their heart (aka challenged to put research data into action), participants are invited to engage in an interactive workshop (includes group discussion of lived experience scenario), and participants are provided with tools to take action to be an effective Ally NOW!
Who I Be?: Identifying your personal goals, passions, and desired career path. This workshop allows participants to center their needs, wants, and desires for their STEM careers. Participants are able to reconnect with their "spark" for STEM.
The Importance of Mentoring in STEM: Why is mentorship important? Are you committed and dedicated to being the change you want to see in the STEM field? Let's come together to explore the recommendations from the groundbreaking American Institute in Physics Task Force to Elevate African American Representation in Undergraduate Physics & Astronomy (AIP TEAM-UP) Report. Learn of my Auntie Jess Mentoring Program best practices. Participants will receive tangible methods to support students in STEM through mentorship.

Emotional Emancipation Circles Facilitator
Emotional Emancipation Circles (EE Circles, EECs) are evidence-informed, psychologically sound, culturally grounded, and community-defined self-help support groups designed to help heal, and end, the trauma caused by the root cause of anti-Black racism: the centuries-old lie of White superiority and Black inferiority.
Originated by Community Healing Network, and developed in collaboration with The Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), EECs are liberatory spaces in which Black people share stories; deepen our understanding of the impact of historical forces on our sense of self-worth, our relationships, and our communities; and learn essential emotional wellness skills to help us be at our best as individuals and as a people.
